ERMAGOSH.

You know when you hear a song for the first time and you just love it? That was me this morning with this song. This song kind of captures how I feel about romantic love at the moment - more on that coming soon in a post over on this blog whenever I come up for air.

So yeah, today's Tunesday pick is a live performance of "Dear No One" by Tori Kelly, who from the two songs I've heard her sing in the last 15 mins or so, is a vocal beast.

Enjoy!

Tunesday 14th January, 2014: No Scrubs(TLC Cover) - Bastille

Sooooo, I'm not afraid to say it. While I may be a little late on this one, I heart Bastille! I heart them even more for this cover of TLC's 'No Scrubs.' TLC = Bomb diggity! Bastille = Yes please! Bastille covering TLC = I can't even! :D

Seriously though, this song was an absolute TUNE when it first came out, and it's still a tune now. Don't be surprised when you're singing this for the rest of the week (all the better if only at the most inappropriate times possible, maybe even to the most inappropriate person/people possible).  I'm done, you're welcome. :p

Until next time!

Tunesday 7th January, 2014: Spark Seeker Acoustic Sessions EP - Matisyahu

It's been almost a decade since I first learned about Matisyahu; he piqued my curiosity then, and I still love listening to (and maybe performing a bit - we do a mean duet on King without a Crown, Live at Stubbs version of course) his music now.

We featured Live Like a Warrior on the final Tunesday of 2013 over on the OM blog, but I'm so loving this acoustic set right now, that for my first Tunesday post on this blog, it's going to be a whole Matisyahu acoustic set! *Oprah voice* You get to listen! You get to listen! You get to listen! AHHHHHH! */Oprah voice* The songs have a beautiful message, and this is perfect timeout/rainy day/chillin'/writing/working in general/etc music. My favourite is unquestionably Live Like a Warrior (hence it being chosen as the final Tunesday track of last year - it's boss' choice until the writers get back from Christmas vacay), but each of the songs on Spark Seeker is an undeniable earworm in its own right. There will be a song you feel "get's you" in this set, and you will adopt a line from it a your motto... not that I'm speaking from experience or anything. :p

Enough with the talking/writing! Take a break, get yourself a white hot chocolate - my current hot beverage of choice- snuggle up, and let the music soothe your soul as you listen.

Until next time...

Tunesdays!

So over on the OrangeMouth blog, we post a weekly Tunesday post.  It is something that, as an idea I'm pretty chuffed to see coming to fruition, especially as it relates to Emotional and Mental Health. Actually, I'm fairly chuffed about OrangeMouth as a whole starting to come together (keep you posted on this blog) to be honest!  There is also a need to be non-partisan as an organisation which does affect to some small degree which songs we decide on. This however, being my personal website, allows more freedom in what I write about. You can probably see where this is going...

Now I'm not quite sure if it counts as borrowing if it was my idea, but I'm taking a digital leaf out of OrangeMouth's book (website? lol), and will be doing a Tunesday track on this blog as well. Woop woop! Fortunately, tomorrow is Tuesday, so that should make up for such a short post today.

Until Tunesday...
