Tinsel Tunesday 16th December, 2014: The Little Drummer Boy / Peace On Earth - Bing Crosby & David Bowie
It's been a while hasn't it?!
Life has been keeping me busy (and hopefully out of trouble) the past few months. Recently, I had the opportunity to spend some time with my (fairly) new godson, and while people would normally have a cuddle, we had a dance party! ...well as much of a dance party as one can have at three months anyway.
For some reason, one of the songs that popped up in my head was today's choice, Tell Me Something Good (the other one being 'Under the Sea' from Disney's The Little Mermaid).
Hope it puts you in a dancing mood, and left as much of a smile on your face, and boogie in your step as it did ours. (:
Until next time...
Generally speaking, I try to avoid picking the same artist for both the OrangeMouth Tunesday, but today I didn't fight it. As usual, I stumbled across today's pick, this time while writing the other Tunesday post.
I had pretty much melted into a ball of delighted musical happiness by the time I got to the end of the song, but it's so good, how could one not?!
Anyways, as always, you're welcomed to check out the OM blog and see what other song of The Mowgli's we chose over there.
Soooooo, perhaps I'm the only person that thinks "I need to get back into shape" at the end of the summer, but there you go!
Still not 100% sure how I ended up on this video, but the beat (tambourine and trumpets) had me thinking that this song deserves a spot on my Exercise/Running playlist. ...now I just need to start working out again.
So I may be a little late to the game with this one, but I've only just discovered this tune from George Ezra while Shazaming the heck out of BBC1 on the way back home from a week of camping.
Soooooo, it's been a while.
Shall we call it a vacation/mental break? Much has been (and is still) going on in the land of M-J! I suppose keeping me busy is the best way to keep me out of trouble...
Anyway, heard this song playing last week, and thought I'd make today Throwback Tunesday.
Until next time...
Today's choice is, surprise surprise, one I only heard for the first time today, but found my ears tickled by its gentle syncopation.
My incredible procrastination skills - even in the face of impending academic doom - and fairly recently downloaded Shazam app have resulted in me having a plethora of songs to choose from each week when it comes time to pick a song for both the OrangeMouth* and this Tunesday post. While usually an earworm (at least for me), my pick is not the only song I listen to each week. If you're interested, there's a link to a "What I'm listening to" playlist on Youtube, here over on the super-secret Bits and Bobs page of the website.
*Check out today's outiest of shouts to the 242. (:
