Chello peoples!
Something I did long before having to pick one or two Tunesday posts each week, is hearing a song somewhere -playing in a shop, as the background music in a scene of a movie or show, blasting from someone's car radio - and trying to remember or write down a few lines of the song for a later time when I could search them and find out its name. Having only recently acquired the Shazam app (which takes away a bit of the enjoyment - instant gratification generation and all that), I am still very much in the habit of doing this. You can guess where this is going yes? That's how today's pick was discovered, setting the scene of some show (I forget which now) I was watching a few days ago.
This song hits me right where it hurts because as it stands I likely won't be able to go home for at least another year, at which time it will be three years since I've been for a visit. This is upsetting to me, but not for the [first] reason you may think. It's not because I miss my family, we've seen each other recently-ish. It's not because I miss my bed or couch - though our couch is pretty comfy. It's not because I miss the food, that ranks a very close second on the list. It's because I'm having beach withdrawal. :/
In its defence, England is making a pretty good go of it weather-wise this summer.
Until next time...
